Science for Youth Ministry Mini-Grant Application

The John Templeton Foundation-funded grant, Science for Youth Ministry, announces $5,000 mini-grants for those teaching youth ministry classes at the college or seminary level. These mini-grants are for seeding the exploration faith and sciences within youth ministry. SYM will receive applications, evaluate them, and pick ten $5,000 recipients. The application window is from Jan 1, 2017 through Aug 15, 2017.


  • Please provide, in 1,000 words or less, a statement of your interest in the subject, plans for use of funds, implications for ministry, and explain why this is a fit at your educational institution.
  • Provide, in 300 words or less, your measurable goals and learning objectives for this grant.
  • Describe in 400 words or less the potential for long-term change to your teaching as a result of receiving this grant.
  • In 500 words or less, provide your intended budget narrative for use of the grant. NOTE: No funds may be used for travel, but up to $3,000 may be taken as stipend.
